Just as there is no fear in love, love is not afraid of judgment; for within righteous judgment holds the very element, a holy flame, that continually purifies love and thereby upholds love as perfect and true.
Judgment as a fulfilled promise of life and blessing
“See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” Deuteronomy 30:15-16 NKJV
Judgment as protection and grace
“Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.” Amos 5:15 KJV
Judgment brings understanding to the righteous
“Evil men understand not judgment: But they that seek the LORD understand all things.” Proverbs 28:5 KJV
Judgment brings justice for the oppressed and mistreated
“The Lord performs righteous deeds
And judgments for all who are oppressed.” Psalm 103:6
Judgment is the habitation and foundation of the Lord’s throne; judgment upholds the throne while mercy flows from it
“Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: Mercy and truth shall go before thy face.” Psalm 89:14 KJV
We are in the season where we need to understand the Lord’s judgments and honor them. And in fearing the Lord, we will actually long for this justice.
