Vanity’s Flame

In all that you pursue, do not forget the face of Jesus! He is our prize, our reward.

I see many I had conversations with in days past, you spoke of Him, you made mention of your love for Him. But now, your pursuit leads you to the dances of the dream; a flame many succumb to as it entices you with hopeful promises only to be allured away from the first love flame that once claimed you.

Beware, beware deception flickers just the same; burning yes, but for whom does the heart pant? For in what you name as pursuit He calls wandering.

No longer does His Name utter from your lips but now lyrics of worldly love and meaningless banter. Drawn away thinking you are doing good, in the pursuit of the dream you thought it would bring Him glory but now you glory in the man made light. You are aflame, though no longer ignited from His Love from the start. My friends this is vanity’s deception! You will come to Him with an armful of fruit that final day, and bitterly weep when realized it is mere plastic with no life. It is not real. This fruit of pretenders has not been produced and pruned by the Dresser. What a grievous day, when you come to realize all the time, hope, and labors wasted on vanity’s deception will surely melt like wax in my Beloved’s Presence.

Turn now before it’s too late. Come back to Him, and allow Him to breathe upon the ashes of your garden that vanity’s flame has consumed. Let Jesus wash away the debris of the deceitful destroyer. Come now while you may yet realize your reality is not real…

Eternity’s door will shut, though not because He doesn’t love you, hasn’t He already proved this to you? He is a man of His Word! You must give Him your wandering heart before it is completely given over to all the lesser lovers, not later or tomorrow. Today repent (change your mind), come near to Him and He will come near to you.

“LABORING TOGETHER [as God’s fellow workers] with Him then, we beg of you not to receive the grace of God in vain [that merciful kindness by which God exerts His holy influence on souls and turns them to Christ, keeping and strengthening them–do not receive it to no purpose]. For He says, In the time of favor (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold, now is the day of salvation! [Isa. 49:8.]” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“Give glory to the Lord your God, Before He brings darkness And before your feet stumble On the dark and shadowy mountains, And while you are longing for light He turns it into the shadow of death, And makes it into thick darkness. Real Love

I can’t get over it, may I never desire to get over this love. If we love Jesus, we receive ALL of Him, AND the Father and Holy Spirit. They will ALL come live with you and make for themselves a special dwelling place in you! They are One and desire to be one with us as they are One. Glory be to God, we are not worthy yet He makes us worthy by receiving Him and the work of the cross, He stays forever when we obey His teaching and we abide and remain in Him. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Father. Thank you Holy Spirit! What an honor to receive and experience this Love. May we never lose this precious wonder that the Creator of the Heaven’s and earth chooses to abide with man. We are chosen, we are loved.

“Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭23‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

“Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine. I have loved you, [just] as the Father has loved Me; abide in My love [continue in His love with Me]. If you keep My commandments [if you continue to obey My instructions], you will abide in My love and live on in it, just as I have obeyed My Father’s commandments and live on in His love. This is My commandment: that you love one another [just] as I have loved you. No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends. “SEE WHAT [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.” 1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

His Majesty

Earlier last week while driving I saw a license plate that stood out to me, spelling the word WAX. Immediately I thought of the verse “The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory and brilliance.” Psalms‬ ‭97:5-6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As I leaned in to ponder this wonder, I then felt the humility of the Mountain, lowering itself before it’s Creator. I think often we see the spiritual symbolism of mountains and equate obstacles. And while all obstacles will be removed for all peoples to see the glory and brilliance of the Lord, I found this new impression particularly beautiful. All of creation, from micro to macro yields itself to their Creator – the Father of all life.

I’ve always been drawn to mountains and their magnificence. The word itself was in my first email address and ministry name. When living in Colorado I never took for granted the splendid sights of their glorious range, whether I was driving from afar or hiking and adventuring to her peaks – long before I ever lived there the concept of ‘The Mountains’ was always “home”. The “High Country” regardless of state or nation has my heart. I came to understand at an early age there was something beyond the grandeur of their outer appearance – because even as displayed in the Word of God, the Mountain was a holy place. Moses encountered the glory of God and spoke with The I Am atop Mt. Sinai, The Ark landed atop Mt. Ararat with Noah and his family after the flood (8 persons, the number 8 representative of a new beginning; this new beginning for humanity lended itself symbolic of the new covenant and mountain top experience intended for man), Jesus was miraculously transformed on the Mount of Transfiguration as He was praying, physically changing His appearance and clothing and both Moses and Elijah appeared to speak with Him. And so for me, the Mountains have symbolized closeness and communion with the Lord. “A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in the LORD Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.” Psalm 125:1 NKJV

“Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth.” Psalm 50:2 NKJV. The Mountains melt like wax because though majestic, they are but a footstool for His Majesty. As a bee uses wax to construct their honeycomb, so does the Mountain melt to reveal the splendor and sweetness of the Creator. At His voice we all shall bow low, where no thing can hinder the perfection of Beauty Himself. Jesus Christ, our Bridegroom King. What a wonder, what a Creator, that all things above and below yield their frame in sweet surrender to His Glory.

I pray my heart would burn ablaze with the song of Ascents upon my tongue, where my home is found in Him, forever abiding beholding His glorious face. If all of creation (not just humanity) can forever worship Him, so can I. May the fire in your eyes Jesus keep me enduring… I don’t want to look away from His Majesty.

“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah‬ ‭55:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But I ask, Have they not heard? Indeed they have; [for the Scripture says] Their voice [that of nature bearing God’s message] has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the far bounds of the world. [Ps. 19:4.]” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:18‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

FIRST LOVE

The greatest gift you can give the Lord is your heart. Today I am praying for you, more fire of devotion for your first Love … “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
