The glory of the Lord is described as the appearance of a rainbow and flooding light in the book of Ezekiel, and the rainbow is a symbol of ‘promise’ and covenant in the book of Genesis. The promise of Presence – a promise He will not leave / separate Himself from us on this earth or destroy the earth again as in the account of Noah and the flood. The glory is the Lord God’s manifest Presence. Interestingly, Ezekiel describes seeing the halo similar to a rainbow waist downward upon the Lord. Possibly because it describes movement, and from the waist downward is how the body moves. Moses even said, I will not go “move forward” unless You go with me. “And Moses said to Him, “If Your presence does not go [with me], do not lead us up from here.” Exodus 33:15 AMP
Perhaps the glory of His Presence leads us to His face. It is often true and possible that His Presence will fill a room, though without seeing the Lord’s form or face. However face to face encounter is reserved and protected by a different halo of fire as seen by Ezekiel as well. Moses first encountered the Lord through fire, which lead to the glory and increase of His Presence which lead to His face.
Song of Solomon and Revelation write of a vehement lovers flame in the eyes of the Lord. To behold His face, as friend some have seen though to behold Him as lover this is a vehement flame reserved for the those faithful and willing to be consumed themselves in Unity’s flame. Perhaps we move from glory to glory until we behold His face! An invitation for all, a journey few will remain committed. The reward is through fires consumption, yielding all of one’s self for all of Him.
“Now upward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something like glowing metal that looked like it was filled with fire all around it; and downward, from that which appeared to be His waist, I saw something like fire; and there was a brightness and a remarkable radiance [like a halo] around Him. As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory and brilliance of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell face downward and I heard a voice of One speaking.” Ezekiel 1:27-28 AMP
“After that I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse [appeared]! The One Who was riding it is called Faithful (Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady) and True, and He passes judgment and wages war in righteousness (holiness, justice, and uprightness). [Ezek. 1:1.] His eyes [blaze] like a flame of fire, and on His head are many kingly crowns (diadems); and He has a title (name) inscribed which He alone knows or can understand. [Dan. 10:6.] Revelation 19:11-12 AMPC
“Fasten me upon your heart as a seal of fire forevermore. This living, consuming flame will seal you as my prisoner of love. My passion is stronger than the chains of death and the grave, all consuming as the very flashes of fire from the burning heart of God. Place this fierce, unrelenting fire over your entire being.” Song of Songs 8:6 TPT
“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC
Possibly… as the mature sons and daughters rise, and are transfigured without unveiled face through the work of the cross, they move as the Body of the Lord while also abiding in divine union and His glory fills the earth as promised! Perhaps this is one reason creation is groaning for the mature sons and daughters to be revealed with eager expectation… because the promise of creation’s restoration is connected to partnership.
“But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. [Isa. 11:9.]” Habakkuk 2:14 AMPC
The mature sons and daughters through partnership and experiential knowing the Lord will reveal His glory. There will be no denying the knowledge of the Lord’s Presence across the earth, while all of mankind may not choose to experience Him. Mature sons and daughters who walk in reverential fear of the Lord who do not ’touch’ the glory for themselves though live to reveal the glory within. Christ has so transformed them, He cannot not be revealed.
“There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience. Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!” Colossians 1:26-27 TPT
Transform us Lord, that we may reveal Your Kingdom and Your glory! In the word manifest is a root that means “hand”. I’ve often thought of how Habakkuk 3:4 and Isaiah 49:16 may connect.
“Behold, I have indelibly imprinted (tattooed a picture of) you on the palm of each of My hands; [O Zion] your walls are continually before Me.” Isaiah 49:16 AMPC
“And His brightness was like the sunlight; rays streamed from His hand, and there [in the sunlike splendor] was the hiding place of His power.” Habakkuk 3:4 AMPC
The “Married One’s” reveal the Lord’s power and glory : those who choose to live under the wing (arm) of the Almighty and make the secret place their home (Psalm 91). They are the dwellers and covenant keepers who faithfully abide. As the Lord spreads out His Arm and Hand, they move positioned by presence, and reveal power in purity (that only comes from union) and the glory of the risen Lord.
“FOR ZION’S sake will I [Isaiah] not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest until her imputed righteousness and vindication go forth as brightness, and her salvation radiates as does a burning torch. And the nations shall see your righteousness and vindication [your rightness and justice–not your own, but His ascribed to you], and all kings shall behold your salvation and glory; and you shall be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name. [Rev. 2:17.] You shall also be [so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as] a crown of glory and honor in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem [exceedingly beautiful] in the hand of your God. You [Judah] shall no more be termed Forsaken, nor shall your land be called Desolate any more. But you shall be called Hephzibah [My delight is in her], and your land be called Beulah [married]; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married [owned and protected by the Lord].” Isaiah 62:1-4 AMPC
The Married One’s reveal the Bridegrooms heart, that those who have not known Him may know Him too. How beautiful is Love’s redemption, filling the earth!
“What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet: [I Cor. 15:27; Eph. 1:22, 23; Heb. 2:6-8.]” Psalm 8:4-6 AMPC
May we put our hand in His, and faithfully partner, for such a time as this!
