Storing A Reward For The Lamb
One day last week while thinking on some spiritual matters, the Lord began to speak to me through a vision, and then I heard my spirit man preaching within me, having a knowing this would be released.
The vision first began seeing a beautiful sunset over the ocean as I was thinking about the Lord and receiving from Him. I was inquiring in my heart wondering ‘why would people not want to be with Him’? There is no exact replica of a sunset, each day beholds its own beauty even if just slightly different, and when you appreciate the details slight differences matter. Next the vision panned downward and zoomed in on the sand and shell pieces on the shoreline. I watched as the sun glistened on a tiny shell piece with its color on display under the captivating and serene rays of Light. The wave came and washed that shell closer out to sea, now buried beneath the sand with an indefinite improbability that I would ever see it glisten in the sun again.
The Lord then likened to me the sand pieces to the the daily manna we are to receive. The emphasis was that perhaps one would never again see that facet of Him, that beautiful angle He would reveal of Himself by His rays of Light just like the piece of shell. The sea is like the depths of His being, in which the Holy Spirit moves in sync with the Son, delivering and leading us to the pieces of Himself to be captivated by and revealed for that day. As the day ends, and the moon transitions we are never without Him, but the revelation Light has passed for that detail of His beauty.
Like the wave pulling energy to and fro, every day, the Creator of Heaven and Earth is reaching in and out to humanity, beckoning those who will appreciate what so many find mundane. And yet there is this Holy dance that the Lord never tires of, seen in the earth’s gravitational attraction around the sun, a beautiful picture of romance and pursuit because we were made to receive Him and know Him.
The Lord God knows that His ways are past finding out, and yet in His divine humility, He still gives new mercies and opportunities every day to find Him and see Him, hoping that you will stop for a glance. Water reflects light, and so it is with the Holy Spirit reflecting the Love that reveals the passion and desire He has toward you, His eyes of sunlight fire over the sea of glass, and the depths of the Lord’s Body (of water) that feed you as He said, eat my flesh.
Symbolically we can compare the Lord’s Body to sand, because sand is granular sized pieces of rock. Not only is Jesus the Rock of Ages who was crushed for our iniquity, He is the split open Rock in the Old Testament that provided water to the Israelites in the desert. “They did not thirst when He led them through the deserts. He made the waters flow out of the rock for them; He split the rock and the waters flowed.” Isaiah 48:21 AMP. BEFORE the foundations of the world He was slain, where He too was split open and pierced where from water flowed from His side. From macro (the earth) to micro (the sand) He is the foundation of our faith. We build up our faith and grow in the Rock while beholding His form and beauty as we gaze upon the micro facets and His intricacies that make up His ways. Yes, they are past finding out, though we have the invitation to know and see Him day by day. No glimpse is quite like the other, mysteries beyond comprehension given so gently that we can digest and come to know Him more every day. What a God, what a Lord, what a Savior that He so patiently, and consistently pursues His created, dressed in the splendor of Omnipotence while disguised in humility unmatched. Does the Sun exist to please the earth? No, the earth depends on her movement sourced from the Sun, and yet it delights the Sun to provide her with His Light from which is all Life.
The book of Proverbs writes, as a man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7). The sum of who you are or who you are becoming is the matter of your thought life. Like the sand there are vast and infinite pieces that form who God is, and in our human brevity we can never fully search it out, thankfully we have all of eternity to know and discover His thoughts, yet even then He has no end. Our stewardship of discovering who God is now on this side of Heaven matter’s tremendously in eternity. In the journey of ‘becoming for Him’ as I often write about, it is our taking of the pieces of His Body (sand / shell) to become like Him that we may be built up in who He truly is; that we may see Him and become like Him. The Light of Life shines upon another morsel of Himself that we would not only enjoy Him and know Him in this earthly brokenness to become like Him, but that we would look up and see the Son face to face shining in the Light of His glory.
Do you see? Since the beginning the Holy Spirit longs to reveal Jesus, even as He (the Holy Spirit) hovered over the waters when the earth was dark and formless while waiting for the command of God to reveal His Light (Jesus). “IN THE beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth. [Heb. 11:3.] The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3 AMPC. The face of the waters is where the Holy Spirit was waiting for the Light so He could reflect the face of Jesus to mankind. The Scripture writes the Spirit was moving. Waves in the ocean are constantly moving because they are energy. The Holy Spirit is the mobilization and energy to our faith, He illuminates the deep Bread or Rock of the Lord and makes it understandable to mankind. The Holy Spirit is the multiplier, and I believe it was He that multiplied the loaves and fish. The more we are unknowing in our human wisdom, we can allow the Holy Spirit to build us up even from fragments of Rock to the person of Jesus. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” John 1:1-5 NKJV
Every day there is an invitation to behold His form, to see the beauty and majesty of Jesus – and every day within that invitation is the empowerment to become like Him. Saltwater burns the eyes, yet it is His refining zealous eyes that are burning for you. If we abide near the ocean of the Spirit, we will not lose our salt. If we cultivate hunger for more of Him we will be led to the waters. Sometimes the sun is not visible from the sky, however it is not truth that it ceased to show itself that day. Likewise trying days are ahead, and we will depend on the Light of the Moon (the moon’s Light source is from the Sun) to illuminate the shells; there may be storms, there may be winds but to the faithful, He shows Himself faithful. How interesting to me that gems are found in the very bowels of the earth and in the depths of the sea, formed from distress, pressure, irritation and the like. An oyster for example can not yield a pearl of price without consistent irritation (mostly from sand), a prized diamond can not be formed without immense pressure and extreme heat. If we remain faithful, even despite circumstances, eventually as we partake of Him and meditate on His thoughts and receive His mind – we will be transformed into His likeness, and from sand and rock will ‘become’ pearls and diamonds. What will I have to give the Lamb for the reward of His suffering? Only on earth now do we have the opportunity to become a gem of great value for our Bridegroom King. It is our daily choice, our daily death, our daily love and devotion that form treasure in the depths to be stored in heaven.
Who is promised tomorrow? The Holy Spirit is wooing us to come to the waters and ‘become’ like Him today. Seek the Lord while He maybe found, call upon Him while He is near. For there will even come a day when the sea will pass away, though the eternal Word will remain.
“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” I Corinthians 2:9-16 NKJV
““Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:1-3, 6-9 NKJV
“How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! [Ps. 40:5.] If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.” Psalm 139:17-18 AMP
“There is no one holy like the Lord, There is no one besides You, There is no Rock like our God.” 1 Samuel 2:2 AMP
“The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, And exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation.” 2 Samuel 22:47 AMP
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)! For who has known the mind of the Lord and who has understood His thoughts, or who has [ever] been His counselor? [Isa. 40:13, 14.] Or who has first given God anything that he might be paid back or that he could claim a recompense? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it).” Romans 11:33-36 AMPC
